QUALITY
Rationel’s production is organised so that systematic quality checks are carried out by production employees before door and window components proceed through the production process.

This gives the best guarantee for generally high quality and error free products.

Wood Window Alliance
Windows made from wood are increasingly seen as the most sustainable, as well as the most attractive, solution.

More than 40 members of the wood window industry have come together to market a range of high quality products that meet independently audited performance and sustainability standards. The Wood Window Alliance provides reassurance that the windows from the member suppliers meet performance and sustainability standards.

A COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT
REPLANTING, RECYCLING, CO2 REDUCTION
However, high your environmental standards, Rationel’s longstanding and explicit commitment to the environment will meet them.

Replanting
Our timber for UK comes from sustainable sources, from forests certified by PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) Chain of Custody forests.

PEFC is a global umbrella organisation for the assessment of and mutual recognition of national forest certification schemes. These national schemes build upon the inter-governmental processes for the promotion of sustainable forest management, a series of on-going mechanisms supported by 149 governments in the world covering 85% of the world's forest area.

PEFC has stated that ‘sustainable forest management is based on environmentally, socially beneficial and economically viable management of forests for present and future generations.’

Rationel uses PEFC timber to ensure a sustainable source and a fully ecological management process is in place for the present and future development of all our products.

Furthermore, replanting guarantees the number of trees planted exceeds the number felled. This ensures the survival of the entire eco-system, the plants and animals as well as the trees.

Recycling
In our factories we have a waste sorting policy. Spare and broken glass is reprocessed, timber waste is used in the factory CHP, (Combined Heat and Power), plant and our spray booths collect and recycle residue. We use a water-based micro porous preservative and paint/stain system that contains absolutely no toxic chemicals.

CO2 reduction
When installed Rationel windows also act to increase sustainability. In the winter, argon filled energy efficient glass units maximise thermal gain, reduce thermal loss and reflect heat back into the room to drastically reduce the need for heating and therefore the release of CO2. In the summer Rationel windows can be designed to reduce solar gain and increase natural ventilation, thus reducing the need for air conditioning.

We encourage the same high standards from those we work with to meet a range of environmental requirements.

In all these ways Rationel are working to create imaginative and effective responses to the environmental challenges we all face today.

DANISH WINDOW CERTIFICATION
All Rationel’s products are Danish Window Control-certified, (DVC-certified). This means that windows and doors at a minimum live up to th e standards for product and production that is defined in DVC´s technical regulations. DVC continuously c arries ou t visits to the production plant ensuring that certified members live up to the defined quality standards.

DS/EN ISO 9001:2000
Rationel’s management system lives up to the requirements in the ISO 9000- series.
