Frame and sash
DOMUS sections are formed using joined laminated sections, this gives improved dimensional stability and enhanced weather resistance. A 54mm deep frame adds to the strength and durability of the door.

Glazing rebate
The glazing rebate is 18mm deep. This helps to protect the edge seal of the double glazed units.

On Secured By Design units the glass is bonded at the corners with an adhesive that requires a force of at least 60kgf to break making it difficult for intruders to gain access.

Aluminium door sills
Doors are fitted with aluminium thresholds with a thermal break to avoid any cold bridging. The threshold has an overall height of 25mm that reduces to 15mm at the front edge ensuring it meets current building regulations for disabled users. The threshold is strong and durable.

Glass
All doors are delivered with 26mm double glazed units. As standard, we can low energy units that give a centre pane U – value of 1.2 W/m2K.

The low U – value means lower heating bills since thermal loss is reduced and the extent of cold waves of air passing through the window is also reduced.

Weather strips
DOMUS doors are fitted with grey EPDM thermoplastic PVC free weather strips fitted in one continuous piece that does not degrade with cleaning.

Glazing beads
Glazing beads are fixed with hidden nailing to create an unbroken surface and ensure an elegant and durable finish that prolongs the lifetime of the glazing.

The most exposed and weathered glazing bead is the bottom glazing bead which is made from aluminium and can be painted to match the window.

Ironmongery
The hinges are adjustable both horizontally and vertically giving precise adjustment of the door within the frame to ensure optimum operation.
